Grimston House is in an ideal location less than 5 miles from York centre set in an acre of mature gardens set back from the A19 at Deighton. With the regular Arriva 415 bus service between York and Selby and the park and ride at York Designer Outlet 2 miles away you can leave the car and explore York at leisure. Located on the south side of York it is within easy access of York University, Racecourse Yorkshire Air Museum and Elvington Airfield. Queen Margaret's school, Deighton Lodge and Escrick Park are a mile away. We are a good base near the A64 to explore the North Yorkshire Moors, Wolds &Coast all within an hours drive or a stopover point if travelling up and down the country

All our rooms have King-size or Super-king Beds with cotton bedding and all have an ensuite shower room except Room 2 which has a standard double bed and private bathroom with both bath and shower across the landing. All rooms have flat screen TV and hospitality trays including fresh milk;some also have fridges and little extras. As members of Deliciously Yorkshire we are committed to sourcing our food from local suppliers within 15 miles and our eggs are freshly laid by our own chickens
Grimston House was built in the 1930's by the landowner of 3 nearby farms. Grimston is an impressive Colonial - style house and has previously been a home for disabled children and doctors surgery before becoming a bed and breakfast in the 1980's.
Looking for somewhere to eat? - In addition to numerous eateries in York, the White Swan pub is a 5 minute walk away and less than a mile away in Escrick you can enjoy several pubs and restaurants. Escrick also has a BP garage with Spar and Subway. We can arrange snacks during the week if you prefer not to go out or pre booked meals for small groups of friends and family.
Arriving by cycle or motorbike? - The Sustrans 65 is about half a mile away accessed by a minor road and goes into York via the racecourse and the famous Squires cafe is 10 miles. We have safe parking for bikes and motorbikes and can arrange washing and drying facilities.
York is a city full of history with fascinating streets and a plethora of shops, museums and galleries. The river Ouse winds its way through the city and many visitors find a boat trip provides them with a different view of this splendid city. If you stay a while you will find some quaint historic towns and nature trails nearby and many English Heritage and National Trust properties to visit. Or just go fishing, enjoy horse riding, play golf or meander around gardens all within a few miles.
